The theme of our 2022 Reformation Celebration is Post Tenebras Lux, which is Latin for “After Darkness, Light.” Before October 31, 1517, the people lived in relative spiritual darkness. Heresy and immorality were prevalent in the world, as well as in the church. The Reformation was a time of rediscovering the light of biblical truth. The same is still needed today.

The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ must constantly be seeking the light of biblical truth so as to see and know the glory of God in the light of the Gospel. This Reformation phrase, Post Tenebras Lux, encapsulates what we as Smyrna Presbyterian Church want to be about.
